Cumulative NDC CO2 emissions relative to the pre-industrial industry will reach about 765 gigatonnes of carbon (GTC) by 2030. Figure 1 presents the total anthropogenic estimates of CO2 (A) emissions and the resulting 2100 GMT (B) and GMSLR (C) for the responses of our NDC 2030 signal track. As an illustration, we also provide estimates of a warming comparison trajectory of 2oC (RCP2.6) and the NDC extension trajectory by the Climate Action Tracker consortium (CAT) (24, 25). For the GMT response, we can identify the decrease in the impact of short-term climate cattle in the first decades following the year of zero emissions. Some impacts are already visible, with reef corals and shellfish at mid-latitudes posing a particularly high risk. How severe will the impact of climate change be on the oceans by the end of the century? In other words, we need to move from theoretical visions of future risks of climate change to oceans to scenarios that are more rooted in the real world. This animation on coastal acidification aims to help teachers inform students of the causes and effects of ocean acidification and to move their students` learning from a global problem to a water quality problem on the coast. Coastal acidification represents a significant environmental change related to the earth`s nutrient flow or eutrophication. Coastal regions are likely to be disproportionately affected by the interconnection of carbon input sources, such as agricultural, industrial and urban processes. The science of coastal acidification is evolving and requires measurements at several levels and on several spatial scales. Animation synthesizes a very complex subject in the hope that it will open the door to discussions about the role of people and the solutions we desperately need to prevent and address problems such as coastal acidification. This theme can be taught in combination with lessons on food sites and ecosystems, the environmental impact of climate change and CO2 emissions, as well as chemistry lessons on real applications.
